Coconut Oil for Hair

Coconut oil strengthens and nourishes the hair, makes in shine. It treats dry hair damaged by the influence of wind, sun, sea, chlorine water and hair driers. It strengthen and soften the hair.

Unlike many other oils, coconut oil can be easily washed off.

Coconut oil should be your favorite natural product during beach vacations. To protect your hair from strong sun and salty water, apply it on your hair every time before you go to the beach. It will make your tan look great too (it works just like tanning lotions sold in stores).

How to use coconut oil for hair

The simplest way of using the oil is to apply slightly warm oil on hair and leave on for 20 minutes to 3 hours. Rinse off with shampoo.
If your hair is excessively dry, after washing your hair oil can be applied to the hair ends. A little bit of oil won’t make your hair greasy but will provide a shining look and protection.

Coconut mask for hair. Coconut oil can be well combined with diary products. To make this mask you’ll need 2 to 3 teaspoons of coconut oil and 3 – 5 tablespoons of sour cream, cream or yogurt. All ingredients are mixed together and should be applied on hair for 40 – 60 minutes. Then wash your hair with regular shampoo.

For dry and damaged hair use the following. Take 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of honey, 2 – 3 drops of essential oil of lavender or rosemary. Mix all in and heat it up carefully. Apply along the entire hair length. Let it stay for 30 to 50 minutes than wash with shampoo as usual.

Coconut oil also can be combined with other vegetable oils. Here is the recipe: 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of flaxseed oil and 1 teaspoon of olive oil (can be replaced with following oils: grape seed, peach, castor or burdock, wheat germ oil, mustard etc). Oils are mixed together and applied to the hair ends. For maximum effect, warm the oil before applying.

Mask with egg. For this mask you need to mix 1 tablespoon of coco oil, 1 egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Warm it up and apply as described before. Wash off after 40 minutes.
